Discipleship and Biblical Counselling for the New Christendom

God-Breathed.
Word-Grounded.

Theopneustos Ministries exists to make disciples who are thoroughly equipped through the living and active Word of God for every good work — in their vocations, household, church and community.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16–17 — LSB

Equipped by Scripture.
Built for the New Christendom.

The name Theopneustos — drawn from 2 Timothy 3:16 — means "God-breathed." We believe that God has indeed granted us all we need pertaining to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3), and thus every ministry we carry is tethered to this conviction: that Scripture alone is sufficient to address the whole person, order the household, reform the church, and extend Christ's reign over every domain of life.

We exist, in being grounded in 2Tim 3:16 to serve in working out the promise of 2Tim 3:17, that those whom we serve will be equipped for every good work. We envision the equipping of Christians for the New Christendom — a generation of disciples who are not merely converted, but thoroughly formed: theologically grounded, vocationally faithful, domestically ordered, and culturally engaged for the glory of God and the advance of His Kingdom.

"His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence" 2 Peter 1:3 — LSB

Founder & Campus Lead Director for Discipleship

Pistis Lau

Pistis founded Theopneustos Ministries to raise up a generation of disciples thoroughly equipped by God's Word for the New Christendom, with a particular focus on university and college students. Seeing an oversaturation of campus ministries that send students out to evangelize without first being properly trained or catechized, he is committed to forming Christians whose witness flows from robust doctrine and mature discipleship. He holds a B.Kin and B.Ed from the University of Toronto and an M.TS from Wycliffe College (UofT), and previously served as a PE and Health teacher at Christian Alliance International School in Hong Kong and in campus ministry with Kingdom Come.

Carmen Lee

Carmen Lee completed her training in architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch) and began her career at Ronald Lu and Partners before the Lord redirected her work toward discipling students with special needs at Christian Alliance International School. Over time, her burden for soul care led her to formally retrain in Biblical Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary, where she completed an MAC in Biblical Counseling, after which she transitioned into counseling as her primary avenue of serving students and other clients. She has also previously served with P2C (Power to Change), and now integrates her experience in education, student ministry, and counseling to walk alongside those in need with Christ‑centred, Scripture‑saturated care. Carmen brings warmth, theological depth, and genuine pastoral care to every counselling relationship, walking alongside individuals and families through grief, anxiety, relational struggles, and questions of faith while pointing to the sufficiency of Scripture and the grace of the Gospel.

What We Believe

We stand in the stream of confessional Reformed catholicity — rooted in the ecumenical creeds, shaped by the Reformed confessions, and committed to the one holy catholic and apostolic church as confessed across the centuries.

Scripture Alone

Holy Scripture — the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, the supreme norm (norma normans) over all creeds, confessions, and traditions. We receive the Reformed confessions (Westminster Standards, Three Forms of Unity) as subordinate standards that faithfully summarise its teaching.

The Holy Trinity

We confess the one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as defined by the Council of Nicaea (325) and Constantinople (381). The Father eternally begets the Son; the Spirit eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son (filioque). This Triune God alone is Lord, Creator, and Redeemer.

Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone

Fallen humanity is dead in sin and wholly unable to contribute to its own salvation. God elects, redeems, calls, justifies, and preserves his people by his sovereign grace alone — received through faith alone — on the sole basis of Christ's obedience and atoning blood. Justification is forensic, imputed, and irreversible.

Covenant & The One Church

God governs all of history through an overarching covenant of grace, administered across both Testaments in one covenant community. The church is the one holy catholic and apostolic body of Christ — not a denomination, but the assembly of the elect gathered in every age by Word and Spirit. We embrace the Great Tradition while standing firmly in the Reformed heritage.

The Means of Grace

Christ nourishes his church through the ordinary means he has appointed: the preached Word, baptism, and the Lord's Supper. Discipleship is therefore inseparable from the gathered church, where Scripture is proclaimed, the sacraments are rightly administered, and discipline is faithfully exercised.

The Resurrection & The Age to Come

We confess with the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ as the firstfruits of the new creation, and the certain hope of his visible, glorious return. The dead will be raised; the righteous will enter into the fullness of God's kingdom; and all things will be made new to the glory of the Father.

Postmillennial Eschatology

We hold to postmillennialism: the confident expectation that Christ's kingdom is advancing through the preaching of the Gospel until the nations are discipled and the earth is filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea (Hab. 2:14). We believe that the New Heavens New Earth has already been inaugurated with Christ's first advent, and will be consummated in his second advent. The great commission to disciple and baptize the nations in the Triune Name does not rest on human optimism but on the sovereign, effectual work of the Holy Spirit and the certain promises of the New Covenant.

Biblical Patriarchy

We affirm that God has ordered creation with a beautiful and purposeful differentiation of male and female (Gen. 1:27). Men are called to exercise faithful, servant-hearted headship in the home and the church; women are called to the high dignity of complementary help and influence. The father bears covenantal responsibility for the spiritual formation of his household. We receive this not as cultural convention but as the creational design of God, confirmed in both Testaments and upheld in the Reformed confessional tradition.
