A pair who prays
Before each class, you and your partner lift up your professor, your classmates, and the day’s material by name. The room is covered in prayer before a word is spoken.
A Theopneustos Ministries initiative
72 by 2 helps Christian students discover one another in the courses they share — and cultivate a visible, intentional witness in the lecture hall. Where two or more are gathered, a classroom becomes a mission field.

“The Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.”
How it works
You don’t need a club, a room, or a program to begin. You need the person two seats over who also follows Christ. 72 by 2 helps you find them.
List the classes you’re taking this term. Your schedule stays private — it’s simply how two or more believers in the same room can recognize one another.
When one or more Christian student(s) shares one of your courses, 72 by 2 quietly connects you — a pair or group sent into the same field, not a follower count.
Meet before lecture. Pray for your professor and classmates by name. Let your presence become the seed of a gospel witness over the weeks of the semester.
The Seventy-Two
When Jesus prepared to go into the towns ahead of him, he did not send the seventy-two alone. He sent them two by two — companioned, accountable, and visible. The pairing was not incidental. A solitary witness is easily overlooked; two faithful believers, present and prayerful, become a sign that cannot be unseen.
We believe the university lecture hall is one such town “where he himself was about to go.” It is full of people whom Christ wants to reconcile to himself, gathered week after week in the same seats. To us that is not background noise — it is a field that is in need of cultivation or harvesting.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2
72 by 2 exists to connect those whom Christ has called into the field together as he goes before them to reconcile many to himself. The laborers may in fact not be few, but they are scattered; 72 by 2 serves to bridge that first barrier.
Connected for mission
72 by 2 keeps count of Christian students who are ready to connect for classroom witness — from latent missionaries seeking a first connection to active missionaries already bearing witness in their lecture halls.

In the classroom
Not merely vague slogans plastered on a laptop or half-hearted attempts at gospel conversations. A steady and reliable Christian presence that your classmates come to recognize over the term.
Before each class, you and your partner lift up your professor, your classmates, and the day’s material by name. The room is covered in prayer before a word is spoken.
People learn where the believers sit. When a hard week comes, your classmates know there is someone in the room who will listen, help, and pray.
Two becomes three, three becomes a study group. The course that scatters everyone at the bell becomes a place of ongoing Christian fellowship.
When questions come — and they do — the answer is already embodied. Your witness has a face, a name, and a track record of love across the semester.
The semester
Faithfulness is built week by week. Here is how a pairing tends to unfold from the first lecture to finals.
Weeks 1–2
Find your partner/group, exchange testimonies, plan and agree on a simple rhythm — when you’ll meet and what you’ll pray for in this course.
Weeks 3–6
Arrive early. Pray for the room. Learn classmates’ names. Let your presence become familiar and dependable.
Weeks 7–10
Offer to study together. Host a meal. Open conversations about faith naturally, as trust has grown.
Finals & beyond
Carry friendships past the final exam. Pray about who you’ll be paired with next term — and keep being sent.
Equipping
It is normal for students to realize that sharing a class with another believer does not automatically make witness feel simple. Many need training to engage their peers with clarity, patience, hospitality, and courage in the classroom.
This is where Theopneustos Ministries serves: through on-campus discipleship courses, classroom-witness training, and guest-speaking opportunities that existing Christian fellowships can host for their students.
Questions
No. 72 by 2 is for any student who confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and wants to be a faithful witness in the classroom. It is a ministry of Theopneustos Ministries and holds to historic, gospel-centered Christian conviction, while welcoming believers across the church.
Not at all. The seventy-two were ordinary disciples. If you can show up, pray, and be a friend, you can be part of this. The pairing exists precisely so that no one has to carry the witness alone.
Your course list is used only to connect you with other believing students in the same room. We are building 72 by 2 to share the minimum necessary and to treat your information with care.
Sometimes the field is quiet at first. When no partner is yet in your course, 72 by 2 helps connect you with a praying companion from a nearby class — so you are still sent two by two, and so you can pray for the one who has not yet been found.
72 by 2 is free for students. It exists to serve the church on campus, not to build a business.
