Biblical Counselling and Discipleship
Thinking God’s thoughts after him.
When life feels difficult, you need care that takes both your struggles and your faith seriously. At Theopneustos Ministries, our biblical counselling begins with this conviction: to understand ourselves rightly, we must listen to the God who made us.

Our approach
God’s Word shapes the whole conversation.
Cornelius Van Til’s emphasis on “thinking God’s thoughts after him” expresses a posture of dependence on God’s revelation: our understanding should follow what God has made known, rather than treating our own judgment as the final authority. It also calls for humility, because our knowledge is limited and must never be confused with God’s exhaustive understanding (John Frame, “Van Til: The Theologian”).
Applied to counselling, this means that Scripture does more than supply comforting verses. It shapes the questions we ask: Who are we? What has gone wrong? Where is our hope? What does faithful change look like? We seek to understand your experiences in light of God’s truth, rather than fitting God’s Word into an understanding of life formed independently of him.
This is the distinction we mean when we describe our care as biblical counselling, rather than simply counselling with Christian language added. Our aim is to listen carefully, take suffering seriously, address sin honestly, and help you grow in faith and obedience to Jesus Christ. In this process, we thoughtfully apply Scripture—the words and counsel of Jesus Christ, the supreme Counsellor—to your circumstances, collaborating with the Holy Spirit to effect transformation in your life.

A faithful next step
Begin a conversation.
You do not need to have everything worked out before reaching out. We invite you to begin a conversation about your circumstances and whether our care is an appropriate fit.
Thinking God’s thoughts after him also means acknowledging our limits. Theopneustos offers non-clinical biblical counselling, spiritual guidance, discipleship, and coaching, not psychotherapy, psychiatric diagnosis, or medical treatment. We encourage appropriate professional care when your needs extend beyond our competence or ministry scope.
